A Change Will Do You Good
It’s February 1st. Aquarius has officially moved out of its beloved home for the past 5 years at the Sunset Ridge Shopping Center. Per my lease agreement, my last day was January 31st. It’s been a week of moving assembly lines, unpredictable emotions, and my “where are you moving to?” and “why are you moving?” response on repeat. A complete roller coaster to be honest.
I decided not to renew my lease at Sunset Ridge because Aquarius had outgrown that center. I am firm believer in change, evolution, and growth in every capacity. Aquarius is not the same store as it was 5 years ago when it first opened and it could possibly not be the same store in another year, two years, or 5 years. We had evolved beyond the shopping center and it wasn’t a great fit for the kind of store I was seeing Aquarius become. However, that does not change the fact that Aquarius would not be who she is if it wasn’t for Sunset Ridge. That gratitude for the last 5 years evoked a sadness I did not anticipate. It felt like moving out of your childhood home. The next home is going to be so kick ass, but Aquarius grew up in this one and I didn’t want to discredit the success, opportunity, and memories that came out of Sunset Ridge.
This is the dawning of the Age of Aquarius…the next, the new Age of Aquarius.
